The Yates County Sheriff's Office is urging Boaters on Seneca, Canandaigua and Keuka Lakes to use extreme caution. With recent weather conditions assorted debris, trees and limbs have been washed into the lakes. Boaters are cautioned to be observant of floating debris and reduce speeds. Water levels have risen considerably and even over docks in some areas.

A reminder that it is NYS Navigation Law on Keuka Lake to be no more than 5 mph boating within 200 feet of shore. Any hidden obstructions are likely to be inside those distances.
